Pelicans Lose Again, 7-0, to Black Squirrels
|
Tree City starter Bob Galloway put a stranglehold on the St. Petersburg offense. The right-hander had complete command of his slider in leading the Black Squirrels to a 7-0 win. Galloway went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 11-4. St. Petersburg is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 6 in a row.
Early in the game, shortstop Júlio Vidro had a run-scoring triple for Tree City. It was his 2nd triple of the season and put the Black Squirrels on top, 1-0.
"I thought we were prepared," St. Petersburg manager Clement Snow said after the game. "I thought we'd be more competitive out there."
