The Chippewa River Chiefs got a strong performance from pitcher Troy Lamb, who stymied the Winfield offense en route to a 4-2 win at The Reservation. Lamb, the winner, moves to 7-1. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up no walks. Zak Osborn, credited with the save, is now 1 for 2 in save opportunities.
Carlos González in the bottom of the sixth had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and the River Chiefs leading 2-1, the Chippewa second baseman got hit by a pitch, driving in 1 run.
