|
San Francisco first baseman Ruben Estrada had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Estrada went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once, even as Maple beat the Earthquakes, 5-3. Estrada was named the player of the game despite the loss. Maple improves to 40-22 with the win. They lead their division by 4 games.
Gerard Leeder delivered a big hit for the Marauders. The veteran second baseman belted a 2-run home run in the top of the third. The longball put Maple on top, 3-3. Overall, Leeder went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"This team is on a mission," said Leeder, who is one of the clubhouse leaders. "I like our focus."
