Blue Claws Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The Baltimore Blue Claws downed the Nichols Gnats, 4-3, in 10 innings. Hector Diaz led the way, going 3-for-4 for Baltimore. The win was Shu-de Tian's in relief. His record improves to 2-4. Seisaburo Sasaki took the loss for Nichols. The Blue Claws, at 81-53, sit in second place in the Lyman Bostock League Dick Williams Division.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Baltimore first baseman Angel Uroza, facing Seisaburo Sasaki, had a run-scoring single. It gave the Blue Claws the 4-3 win.
"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Uroza.
