Both teams had their chances, but the San Angelo Mustangs eventually prevailed at Heartland Kettlecorn Stadium.

The Mustangs had to overcome a fine effort from Tree City pitcher Bob Galloway to grab a narrow 3-2 win at Heartland Kettlecorn Stadium. Galloway went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. San Angelo reliever Omar Mendez was the winner. His record is now 2-1. Rudy Cortez took the loss. Al Hrabosky Jr. closed the game out for San Angelo, earning his 39th save.

The Mustangs got a big at-bat from designated hitter Orlando Talamantez, who in the bottom of the seventh hit a run-scoring double. It was his 12th double of the season and put the Mustangs on top, 3-2.

"There are no moral victories," said losing manager James Lee.

San Angelo is now 74-52, Tree City 83-46.
