The Houston Sting and Tree City Black Squirrels played a tight game at Woodland Park, with the hosts claiming the hard-fought win.
Ryan Davis pitched well, but his team, the Tree City Black Squirrels, still dropped a 3-1 decision to the Houston Sting at Woodland Park. Houston reliever Rennie Hill picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. Ryan Davis was saddled with the loss.
One of the key players for the Sting was designated hitter Jason Scroggins, who drilled a run-scoring triple in the bottom of the fourth inning. For the game, Scroggins went 1-4 with a triple.
Scroggins told the Houston Today: "Sometimes the big stage is not big enough for me."
Houston is now 61-66.
