Victory Over Saints Takes Baltimore to 77-48
|
Justin Nance was instrumental in his team's 7-4 triumph over the St. Paul Saints. The center fielder went 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks for the Baltimore Blue Claws. Alex Rivas got the win, improving to 10-3. He held the Saints to 4 earned runs on 5 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 2. The Blue Claws have an impressive 77-48 record.
In the top of the 5th, Baltimore took the lead on a bases-clearing triple by Graham Armstrong. At the time, the Blue Claws were trailing 4-3, but Armstrong's hit with two outs against St. Paul pitcher Danny Mendez put them in front, 6-4.
"Every win gets us closer to our ultimate goal," said Armstrong.
