Blue Claws Lose, 4-2, at The Reservation
|
The Reservation was the site of a competitive game between the Baltimore Blue Claws and Chippewa River Chiefs.
The Chippewa River Chiefs got a stellar performance from pitcher Jeff Stephens, who handcuffed the Baltimore offense en route to a 4-2 win at The Reservation. Stephens picked up the win for Chippewa, going 5 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 11-3.
In the top of the eighth, Colin Carpenter stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Blue Claws were trailing 4-2, but had runners on 1st and 3rd. That's when Zak Osborn made a terrific pitch and Carpenter flied out. Gone was the dream of a Baltimore comeback.
At 77-45, the River Chiefs have a slim two-game lead in the Lyman Bostock League Dick Williams Division.
