River Chiefs Walk Off with Win
|
The Chippewa River Chiefs turned back the Baltimore Blue Claws, 5-4, at The Reservation. Miguel Rangel was named player of the game for his fine performance. He was 4 for 5 with a home run and 2 triples, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Chippewa reliever Brad Ide picked up the win, upping his record to 6-4. Gabriel Pérez was saddled with the loss. The River Chiefs, at 76-45, lead by one game in their division.
Rangel had the big at-bat for Chippewa. With no one out in the bottom of the ninth inning, he hit a walk-off run-scoring triple, giving Chippewa the 5-4 win.
"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Rangel told the Chippewa Citizen.
