Dela, Bombers Too Much for Pioneers

South Carolina catcher Jesús Dela had a 4-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Vancouver Pioneers, 5-3. South Carolina reliever Davis Marés was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Garry Strode took the loss. Si-hun Park nailed down his 6th save.
Alexander Beck's at-bat with one out in the top of the ninth was critical. The South Carolina shortstop hit a run-scoring single, to put his team on top, 2-1. Runs were at a premium and this one was huge.
"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Beck told the South Carolina Daily News. "Whatever it takes."
South Carolina, at 36-25, sits in second place in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division.
