Hornets Score Late to Upend Princes, 2-1
|
Eugene Spencer was in top form in a low-scoring contest between Bethesda and Bel Air. The Hornets left-hander was named the player of the game in Bethesda's 2-1 win. Hiroshi Nagasawa, credited with the win, is now 6-4. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1 innings. Bethesda now has a 3-game win streak.
In the bottom of the ninth, with no one out and the game tied, 1-1, right fielder Miguel Hernández won it for Bethesda. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Hernández hit a 0-1 fastball from Toru Saito for a run-scoring single, giving his team a 2-1 win.
"Put a star next to this win," Hernández said.
