The St. Petersburg Pelicans got a strong performance from pitcher Ryokan Endo, who stymied the Brisbane offense en route to a 4-1 win at Billy Mathews Field. St. Petersburg now sits in last place in the Donnie Moore League Dusty Baker Division at 46-76.
Endo earned the win, going 7 strong innings for St. Petersburg. The native of Matsudo, Japan allowed just 3 hits, while striking out 8. Brisbane hitters did next to nothing against the right-hander.
