Pitcher Kazuhiro Miyata was sensational for the Barrow Frosties in his team's 3-1 triumph over the Palm Beach Bums. Miyata received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. Miyata got the win, improving to 9-7. He allowed 3 hits and walked 2 over 5.2 innings. Miyata allowed 1 earned run. Cecilio Friuli notched his 3rd save in 4 chances.
One of the key players for the Frosties was center fielder Bill Corkum, who drilled a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning. For the game, Corkum was 2 for 5 with a double.
