Mustangs Topple Warriors with Late Rally

Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the San Angelo Mustangs got the win.
San Angelo starter Magyver McKenzie pitched effectively against the Winfield Warriors at Heartland Kettlecorn Stadium. The left-hander led his team to a 4-2 win. Tom Bowen picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 6-3. Mike Mitchell was tagged with the loss. Al Hrabosky Jr. earned the save for San Angelo, his 36th of the year.
Orlando Talamantez had a critical at-bat with one out in the bottom of the eighth. The San Angelo right fielder came through with a run-scoring single to put San Angelo in front, 3-2.
"Magyver was throwing free and easy," said San Angelo manager Clyde Bowman.
The third-place Mustangs now have a win-loss record of 70-49.
