San Angelo wasted a solid 5.2-inning effort from starting pitcher Marlo Freeman, losing to Victoria, 2-1, at The drakkar. Victoria reliever Andy Dasher picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. Tom Bowen was saddled with the loss. The Vikings, now 76-46, have won 6 in a row.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the seventh, with the game tied, Butch Hall was at the plate when Victoria scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Vikings to go in front, 2-1.
