San Angelo Hot Streak Continues with 9-1 Win
|
Riding the 3-hit performance of the 20-year old left fielder Orlando Talamantez, the San Angelo Mustangs stopped the Nichols Gnats, 9-1. The win was Dan Garcia's in relief. His record improves to 5-1. Victor Saenz took the loss for Nichols. Emílio Buenvenida was credited with the save for San Angelo, his 3rd of the season.
Roe Aamodt, not known for his power, had a big at-bat with no one out in the bottom of the sixth. That's when he connected on a fastball from Victor Saenz for a solo home run. His 12th home run of the season put San Angelo in front, 2-1.
"We're obviously playing with a lot of confidence," said San Angelo manager Clyde Bowman.
The wins continue to add up for San Angelo, with the latest making it 7 in a row.
