The Bethesda Hornets got a stellar performance from pitcher Jose Rodriguez, who handcuffed the Houston offense en route to a 6-2 win at Woodland Park. The win was credited to Layne Farmer in relief. His record improves to 5-1. Jeff Van Wormer took the loss. Hiroshi Nagasawa nailed down his 31st save.
Runs were scarce in this one. So, Ryoji Nakai's at-bat in the top of the eighth was vitally important. With one out, the Bethesda left fielder hit a run-scoring single, to give his team a 3-2 lead.
"We're just going to try to build off this win," said Nakai.
With the victory, the Hornets record now stands at 58-60.
