River Chiefs Keep Streak Alive With 6-4 Win
|
Despite a fine performance by catcher Kent Owen, the Coney Island Cyclones suffered a 6-4 loss to the Chippewa River Chiefs. Owen went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winning streak has now reached 9 games for Chippewa.
It could have been a different outcome for Chippewa, had it not been for Miguel Rangel, the 21-year old shortstop . Rangel contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the sixth inning to put Chippewa up, 5-3.
"A great game, a great day," said Rangel about the win. "I can't complain."
