The Houston Sting got a magnificent effort from pitcher Alejandro Reyes, who kept Westside hitters in check en route to a 3-1 Sting win at Woodland Park. The winning pitcher was Reyes, now 1-1. He tossed 5 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 4. The Sting' win now puts them at 58-56.
The Houston win was a team effort. It included major contributions from, among others, Steve Pollard. In the bottom of the first, the Houston center fielder came to bat and hit a 2-run home run. It staked his team to a 2-0 lead.
"Alejandro's tempo and rhythm were good," said Sting manager Héctor Flores. "He was the key to us winning."
