Road Warriors Drop Sting, 3-1
|
The Westside Road Warriors got a stellar performance from pitcher Cole Moore, who handcuffed the Houston offense en route to a 3-1 win at Woodland Park. Moore, now 5-5, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing 1 earned run. The Road Warriors saw their win-loss record go to 68-46. At the same time, the Sting fell to 57-56.
Jordan Kamen contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the seventh. With the bases loaded, he hit a sacrifice fly. It was one at-bat that propelled Westside to the win.
"I just love going out and having a big game," Moore said when asked about being named player of the game. "It's an honor to have your talents recognized."
