The San Angelo Mustangs overcame a good performance by St. Paul third baseman Denny Malone to knock off St. Paul, 7-3, at Saints Ballpark. Malone was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win was Omar Mendez's in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Ian Portz took the loss for St. Paul. The Mustangs now own a record of 62-46.
Also making an impact was designated hitter Freddy Ramos, who drilled a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning for the Mustangs. For the game, Ramos went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs.
