Tree City Beats Barrow, 4-3
|
Tree City beat Barrow at The Nut House, escaping with a 4-3 win. The win in large part was due to left fielder Dennis Perry, who earned player of the game honors. He was 2-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Tree City reliever Terry Duncan picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-1. Vic Pilgrim was collared with the loss. The save was credited to Cory Kieck, his 26th.
The Tree City triumph was a team effort. Not least among the contributors was Ty Bedford. In the bottom of the seventh, the Tree City first baseman hit a run-scoring single. It staked his team to a 4-3 lead.
"They played a better game than we did," said Barrow skipper Corey Conway.
Tree City improves to 69-41 with the win. They lead their division by 3 games.
