Bums Sneak Past Princes, 6-5
|
The Bel Air Princes got a superb performance from first baseman Aaron Kelch. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Palm Beach. The Bums won the game, 6-5. In spite of the loss, Kelch was named the player of the game. He was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Palm Beach reliever Keith Shapiro was the winner. His record is now 1-1. Toru Saito took the loss. Charlie Cruz earned the save, his 2nd, for the Bums.
Palm Beach shortstop Albert Rodríguez changed the complexion of the game in the top of the eighth inning. That's when he belted a 2-run home run off Toru Saito. His 7th home run of the season put Palm Beach in front, 6-5.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Rodríguez.
The Bums saw their record improve to 48-64.
