Kingwood and Winfield met at The Barn in front of a lively crowd.

The Kingwood Knights beat the Winfield Warriors, 9-4, at The Barn. Kingwood designated hitter Keisaku Yamashita earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Yoshizo Kanemura, credited with the win, is now 5-3. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 3.1 innings.

Kingwood grabbed control in the top of the sixth. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Phil Morgan delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 5-4 in favor of the Knights.

"You come to the ballpark to do your job and that's what I did today," Yamashita told the Kingwood Citizen.

Kingwood is now 50-59. Winfield is 56-54.
