|
Riding the 3-hit performance of the 20-year old center fielder Robby Sanchez, the Seattle Sasquatch stopped the Portland Beavers, 4-2. Jun Nakayama, who went 6 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 10 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 3-5. Seattle has now won 3 straight, while the Beavers have lost 3 in a row.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the sixth, with the game tied, Lee Jones was at the plate when Seattle scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Sasquatch to go in front, 3-2.
"We came in and got the job done. That's what it's all about in this business," said Jones.
