Grays Snatch Late Win
In a tight game between the Georgia Grays and the Eureka Hornets, pitcher Juan Mendoza was terrific on the mound. The Georgia right-hander was named the player of the game in Georgia's 3-1 win. Mendoza, now 2-0, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 0, and allowing 1 earned run. Bernalldo Rocchi earned the save for Georgia, his 4th of the year.

Georgia grabbed control in the bottom of the eighth. With no one out and a runner on 1st, Abalendu Manglorkar delivered a run-scoring double, to make it 2-1 in favor of the Grays.

"Juan was Juan," said Grays manager Davey Morris. "We know what we'll get whenever he takes the mound."

Georgia improves to 4-3 as they look to defend their championship.
