San Angelo pitcher Adam Andersen gave the Knights all they could handle, but in the end, Kingwood left Stable Park with a 4-2 win. Andersen allowed 2 earned runs on 7 hits over 6 innings. Shiki Murata got the save, the 2nd for him this season. The Knights saw their win-loss record go to 47-58. At the same time, the Mustangs fell to 60-43.

With a runner on 1st and one out in the bottom of the second inning, catcher Roberto Vargas delivered big for the Knights. Kingwood was trailing 2-0 when he belted a 2-run home run.

"I felt we were ready to go," said Kingwood manager Barry Bowman. "Our pregame was pretty good."
