Road Warriors Get Close Win Over Dancin' Outlaws
|
Despite a great performance by West Virginia first baseman Marcos Rodríguez, the Westside Road Warriors defeated the Dancin' Outlaws by the score of 4-3 at Road Warriors Field. Rodríguez was 2-2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Westside reliever Ramon Trinidad was the winner. His record is now 5-3. The losing pitcher was Yuko Kinoshita. The Road Warriors, now 64-41, have won 4 in a row.
The Road Warriors were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when first baseman John Corkum turned a 0-1 fastball from Yuko Kinoshita into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent a roar through the crowd and gave Westside a thrilling 4-3 win.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Corkum said.
