Gnats Bang Out 6-2 Win Versus St. Paul
|
David Rivera helped his team muscle past the St. Paul Saints, 6-2. In the game, the Nichols right fielder was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The win was credited to Ruben Abreu in relief. His record improves to 5-2. Roberto Saucedo took the loss. After today's action, Nichols sits at 30-75, while St. Paul falls to 44-58.
Nichols grabbed control in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, Carlos Morales delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 3-2 in favor of the Gnats.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Gnats manager Reese O'Higgins. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
