Emeralds Knock Off Knights at Prefontaine Park
The Eugene Emeralds defeated the Kingwood Knights, 7-4, at Prefontaine Park. Eugene third baseman Luke Riviere was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 4-4 with a double and 3 singles. Their 44-58 record puts the Emeralds 5th in the Donnie Moore League Tommy Lasorda Division.

Eugene right fielder Umito Kono changed the complexion of the game in the bottom of the sixth inning. That's when he belted a 2-run home run off Nobuhiko Newton. His 12th home run of the season put Eugene in front, 5-4.

"We need to keep playing good baseball," Riviere told the Eugene Chronicle.
