The Tree City Black Squirrels took Charleston pitcher Steve Gould's best shot and still were able to claim a win at The Nut House. The final score had Tree City getting past the Panthers, 2-0. Gould went 5 innings and allowed no earned runs, striking out 1. Cory Kieck sewed up the save, his 25th. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for Tree City.
John Gero was 1 for 2 with 2 walks for Tree City. The 20-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Ryan Hamblin. It was his 36th walk of the season.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Tree City manager James Lee.
