Earthquakes Suffer 6-3 Loss to Pioneers
|
Vancouver and San Francisco duked it out at The Royal Court at Jersey Yards and the Pioneers came out victorious.
The San Francisco Earthquakes got a superb performance from shortstop Jorge Zamora, but the Vancouver Pioneers still won the game, 6-3. Zamora was named the player of the game despite the loss. He was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Kenko Samurakami was the winning pitcher. Over 7.1 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 7 hits, with 2 walks and 2 strikeouts.
The Pioneers took the lead in the bottom of the fifth when Joe Young banged a two-out home run. Vancouver had been trailing 1-0, but Young hit a first pitch sinker from Minh-Duc Pamungkas for a 2-run home run.
"It feels good, just a great win all around," Young said after the game.
Vancouver now has a 3-game win streak.
