Bush Wackers Stay Hot, Beat Warriors
|
Brisbane pitcher James Stevens did his part in helping his team beat the Winfield Warriors, 4-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The winning pitcher was Stevens, now 8-5. He tossed 5.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 7. Mudasser Sabzvari, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 3rd save.
Making an impact for Brisbane was center fielder Matt Rank. He drilled a 2-run double in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, Rank was 1 for 3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We had a good game plan," Stevens said, "and we were able to execute it."
The winning streak has now reached 9 games for the Bush Wackers.
