Dancin' Outlaws Mow Down Gnats, 9-3
|
The West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws knocked off the Nichols Gnats, 9-3, at Penlee Park. Egbert Peper, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason West Virginia won. The third baseman went 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The win was credited to António Fabián in relief. His record improves to 6-4. J.J. Cassidy took the loss. With the victory, the Dancin' Outlaws record now stands at 50-52.
Peper contributed a productive at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was one of the critical at-bats that helped West Virginia get the win.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Peper said.
