Black Squirrels Come Up Short at Kingwood
|
The Knights had to overcome a good performance from Tree City pitcher Francis Luck to claim a 5-4 win at Stable Park. Luck went 5 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Kingwood is now riding a 3-game win streak.
In the bottom of the 6th, center fielder Jen-ta Zhong gave Kingwood the lead when he hit a 2-run double. The Knights had been trailing 4-3, but the two-out double off Tree City pitcher Chion Hatanaka changed that -- and Kingwood went on to win.
"We'll savor this win," Zhong told the Kingwood Citizen, "then get ready for the next game."
