Cruz Stars in Beavers Win
The Seattle Sasquatch inaugurated their 2032 season with a tough 4-3 loss to the Portland Beavers at Sick's Stadium. Right Fielder Rafael Cruz was named player of the game for Portland. Félix Reina, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held Seattle to 2 earned runs on 4 hits over 6.1 innings, while racking up 7 strikeouts. Olivier Martin picked up the save for Portland, his 1st of the year.

Cruz had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 2-0 fastball from Kirk Redman, he banged a grand slam home run to right, giving the Beavers a 4-1 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Cruz.

"Winning is all that really matters and we got it done today," Cruz told the Portland Citizen.
