Behind a solid performance from shortstop Tomoshi Tanaka, the Winfield Warriors defeated the Palm Beach Bums, 5-1. Tanaka went 1 for 2 with a double and 2 walks for the Warriors. Winfield reliever Sancho López was the winner. His record is now 2-2. Ernesto Trevino took the loss. After today's action, Winfield sits at 52-45, while Palm Beach falls to 43-57.
Tanaka provided the big break for the Warriors in the bottom of the first inning. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a run-scoring double, helping Winfield to get the win.
