Black Squirrels Go Down to Defeat, 4-3
|
Despite the rain, the fans at Stable Park enjoyed a good ballgame.
Tree City first baseman Ty Bedford had a good game, even if his team did not. The Black Squirrels dropped a 4-3 decision to Kingwood at Stable Park. Bedford was 2-5 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Kingwood reliever Steve Vincent picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Ryan Davis took the loss.
José Martínez was 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk for Kingwood. In the bottom of the second, with the teams deadlocked, 0-0, Martínez delivered for the Knights. His run-scoring walk put Kingwood on top, 1-0.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Tree City skipper James Lee, "and it cost us."
The 4th-place Knights now have a win-loss record of 43-54.
