River Chiefs Rally For 3-2 Win
|
The Eugene Emeralds got a superb performance from pitcher Sung-moon Lee. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Chippewa. The River Chiefs won the game, 3-2. In spite of the loss, Lee was named the player of the game. He threw 5 innings allowing 2 runs. The winner was Chippewa reliever Eddie Zuniga, now 3-4. The loser was Jorge Martínez. Chippewa's record now stands at 56-40, placing them second in the Lyman Bostock League Dick Williams Division.
Ryan Agee was the walk-off hero for Chippewa. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the River Chiefs pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Agee said in his postgame press conference.
