Starting pitcher Juan Disla pitched well enough to help the Boise Bloodhounds beat the Nichols Gnats by the score of 5-3. Disla went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 5. His record improves to 3-5. Pat Meskill closed the door for Boise, picking up his 5th save of the year.
With runners on 1st and 3rd and two out in the bottom of the seventh inning, pinch hitter Seisuke Fukushima delivered big for the Bloodhounds. Boise was leading 2-1 when he belted a 3-run home run.
"Anytime we get it going, it puts a smile on my face," said Fukushima.
Even with the win, the Bloodhounds have a dismal 25-69 record.
