Knights Get 5-3 Win Versus St. Paul
|
Fans who gathered at Saints Ballpark saw a good contest between the Kingwood Knights and St. Paul Saints.
St. Paul got a terrific performance from pitcher Ian Portz, but it wasn't enough to beat the Kingwood Knights. Kingwood won the Saints Ballpark contest, 5-3. Portz was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 5 innings of 4-hit ball. The winner was Ronnie Priest in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Ian Portz took the loss.
Jen-ta Zhong helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a run-scoring triple to give Kingwood a 1-0 lead.
"It feels good to get this one," Zhong told the Kingwood Citizen.
Kingwood, at 41-52, sits in last place in the Lyman Bostock League Dick Williams Division.
