Frosties Defeat Shade, 8-4
|
The Barrow Frosties knocked off the Stroudsburg Shade, 8-4, at Tim Raines Stadium. Bill Corkum, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Barrow won. The center fielder slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Steven Tillman picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-0. Willy Ortiz was tagged with the loss. The Frosties go to 60-33, putting them first in the Donnie Moore League Dusty Baker Division.
A defensive miscue in the top of the fifth cost the Shade. With Barrow leading 4-3, Antonio Trillo reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 1 run. Barrow ended up winning the ballgame.
"We've got a great group of guys," Trillo said, "and we're having fun right now."
