Nisbet Delivers Walk-Off Win for River Chiefs
|
The River Chiefs had to overcome a good performance from Coney Island pitcher António Domínguez to claim a 4-3 win at The Reservation. Domínguez went 7 innings and allowed no earned runs. Chippewa is now 52-38, Coney Island 40-51.
The River Chiefs beat the Cyclones in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Bob Nisbet produced in the bottom of the 12th. Batting against Coney Island pitcher Dave Cutlip, Nisbet gave his team a 4-3 lead when he hit a walk-off run-scoring single.
In postgame remarks, Nisbet simply said: "Here's to a great win!"
