Earthquakes Lose to Pioneers, 6-2
|
Vancouver Pioneers starter Alejandro García kept the San Francisco Earthquakes hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-2 win. Garry Strode recorded his 17th save for Vancouver. The Pioneers bumped their record to 31-26 with this latest triumph.
In the bottom of the first, Hiroya Shimada had a big 2-run double off Carlos Estrada. With the double, the Vancouver left fielder put his team in front, 2-0. He went 2 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once in the contest.
"I had pretty good command out there," said García.
