González Delivers Walk-Off Win for Republic
|
House of the Republic was rocking after an exciting Republic win today.
In a tight contest at House of the Republic, the So Cal Republic edged the Portland Beavers by the score of 4-3. So Cal left fielder Zeus Mayhem, who blasted 2 home runs, was named the player of the game. So Cal reliever Pin-zhen Au picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Rolf Pals was saddled with the loss.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when So Cal center fielder Orlando González, facing Olivier Martin, had a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. It gave the Republic the 4-3 win.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Portland manager Ryan Blandford, "let me know."
With the win, So Cal boosts its record to 3-3.
