Loss Extends Kingwood Losing Streak
|
Charleston catcher David Giese was a significant contributor in his team's 6-4 triumph over the Kingwood Knights. He was 2-4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for Charleston. The winner was Charleston reliever Brian Mullins, now 2-2. The loser was Yoshizo Kanemura. Kingwood now has a 6-game losing streak.
The outcome might have been different had it not been for Giese. In the top of the seventh inning, when the Panthers were trailing 4-3, Giese delivered a two-out 2-run double for Charleston, giving his team the lead.
"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Kingwood manager Barry Bowman.
