Gnats Stick Jedi Knights with 6-3 Loss
|
The Nichols Gnats topped the New Orleans Jedi Knights, 6-3, with shortstop Rafael Gómez playing a big role. Gómez was 2-3 with 2 doubles and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Gnats in the win. Nichols reliever Luis Pina was the winner. His record is now 2-4. Ben Krupnik took the loss. Arturo Gallegos notched his 11th save in 13 chances.
Gómez came through for Nichols with a bases-clearing double in the bottom of the first. He hit a full count changeup to right-center field, staking his team to a 3-0 lead.
"Today was a lot of fun," said Gómez.
Nichols is now 25-65. New Orleans is 51-37.
