Rivadeneyra Slugs Frosties to 5-3 Win
|
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Ricardo Rivadeneyra, the Barrow Frosties defeated the St. Petersburg Pelicans, 5-3. Rivadeneyra was 3-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Frosties. Tadahisa Sato earned the save for Barrow, his 12th of the year. Barrow goes to 56-31. The win puts them 7 games up in their division.
Rivadeneyra had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 1-0 cutter from Nelson Cardona, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Frosties a 5-3 lead. It was the 12th home run of the year for Rivadeneyra.
Rivadeneyra called the win "a collective effort."
