Emeralds Lose Late, 5-4

Philip Banks Field was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Bel Air Princes and the Eugene Emeralds.
The Princes faced a stiff challenge from Eugene pitcher Sean Nichols, but persevered to claim a win at Philip Banks Field. The final score was 5-4. Nichols went 7.1 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. With the win, Bel Air has a record of 33-52. Eugene falls to 35-49.
The Princes were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when designated hitter Pablo Cortez turned a 0-1 fastball from Hiroo Okimura into a 3-run home run. The walk-off home run sent a roar through the crowd and gave Bel Air a thrilling 5-4 win.
"This place was rockin'," Cortez said.
