Saints Win at Coney Island, 7-2
|
Coney Island Coliseum was the site for Lyman Bostock League action featuring the Coney Island Cyclones and St. Paul Saints.
The St. Paul Saints knocked off the Coney Island Cyclones, 7-2, at Coney Island Coliseum. Oscar Mayes, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason St. Paul won. The catcher went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. St. Paul reliever Fernando Criado picked up the win to move to 3-0. Randy Lynn suffered the loss.
Mayes provided the big break for the Saints in the top of the second inning. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run, helping St. Paul to get the win.
"Good win for us," said Mayes. "Now we'll focus on the next one."
The Saints improve their record to 38-45 with the win over Coney Island.
